Job Description: 

We are currently seeking an Accounting Professional (CPA) for our firm. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include preparation of financial information, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns for both corporate and personal clientele. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare financial information for both companies and individuals
  • Prepare financial documents for the government, the organization or other governing bodies
  • Provide tax consultation services to clients
  • Ensure corporations are complying with the Canadian Tax Act
  • Develop reporting standards for future use within the organization
  • Reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and prepare returns
  • Provide accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of clients’ businesses ensuring compliancy with all tax regulations
  • AgriStability farm reporting 

Requirements: 

  • CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, highly detail-oriented
  • Capable of managing a team and demonstrating leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, finance and accounting
  • Experience with CaseWare, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Sage, Profile, and AgExpert software is an asset
  • Must be familiar with agriculture or have a desire to learn

    Job Description: 

    We are currently seeking an Accounting Technician to participate in a variety of client engagements.  The successful candidate will be responsible for producing Financial Information and related Corporate Income Tax Returns.  This role will focus on Compilation Engagements, and therefore candidates will have limited opportunity to gain audit hours for those in the CPA stream. 

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Prepare Compilation Engagement Report and related Financial Information
    • Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns
    • Prepare T4 and T5 slips and summaries and Workers’ Compensation Returns
    • Preparation of farm programs returns, related farm bookkeeping and GST returns
    • Communicate with CRA in assisting clients with routine inquiries
    • Perform other personal bookkeeping services 

    Requirements:

    • Completion of a Diploma or Certificate in Accounting
    • Minimum of 2 years of Canadian experience in public accounting
    • Good knowledge of tax return components (corporate and personal)
    • Additional experience in general accounting or bookkeeping is an asset
    • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
    • Knowledge of CaseWare, Sage, Excel, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online and Profile considered an asset
